My decision to join The Flesh Company presented a wonderful opportunity to follow in the footsteps of both my father and grandfather.  I grew up with a tremendous admiration for my grandfather's entrepreneurial spirit, and hoped that I could somehow continue my father's vision. So fresh out of college and armed with a business degree, I joined The Flesh Company's sales force in 1970 and began a career developing and maintaining strong customer and supplier relations.  This decision was at times very intimidating, hopeful that I could continue the successes of the generations preceding me in leading The Flesh Company.  But I've never looked back, and have always looked forward to the future and what it brings for our associates, customers, and the industry.

As my grandfather and father, I've always remained committed to provide solutions for our customers' unique business problems and as their challenges change, so must our products and services to continue to meet their needs.  In the last ten years, the acceleration in technology and the rate of change in our industry has been astonishing - even a little scary - and no one can afford to avoid evolving in these times.  Fortunately, I've been able to surround myself with talented people who have never been afraid to challenge me or the Company, making us better every day.

My career has taken different directions during my 39 years with the Company.  In 1986, I was appointed President and CEO.  As of September 1, 2006, Bob Berardino was appointed as President and Chief Operating Officer of The Flesh Company and it's related companies.  This is in no way an exit strategy for me.  This transition will allow me to focus my energy on continuing to grow and develop all segments of our business.

It gives me great pleasure to look back on so many years of working with our wonderful and loyal customers, our dynamic industry partners and our dedicated employees, many of whom have built entire careers with us.  People who have worked with us know that we are never going to settle for anything less than "best-in-class" and I thank them for helping us set so many industry benchmarks over the years.

Our mission statement is clear in that our priorities are professionalism and integrity, and we live by it!  I look forward to the challenges ahead in re-engineering and evolving to keep pace with the industry and the needs of our customers.  We will celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2013, and achievement for which I am personally extremely proud.  Reaching this anniversary and beyond has only become possible because of our wonderful customers, our talented and loyal associates, and our commitment to living up to our mission statement.
